wow, both janice and weikei have already posted about this weekend...so i betta start too!!...seriously, this weekend was like the BEST time of my life....*shakes head in amazement*

so it all starts on friday when we meet at claire's house to watch LOTR 1 and 2..i had driver's ed(>_<) so i thoght i was gonna get there late since we were supposed to get there at 4, but when i got there, surprise, janice and ivan were the only people there..haha...apparently they had been there since 4ish...they were playing mario kart on game cube when i got there, so i joined in..ugh ivan is TOO good at mario kart...he lapped us every time...but i won one time!!..ivan was sitting at the finish line waiting for me to catch up so that he could savor the victory right in my face, but i scooted right around him and won instead..HEHEH..miink and weikei showed up around 630ish.? and weikei took over mario kart..hahah he OWNED ivan!!..yes!..janice and me were like "that's what u get for beating us so many times ivan!"...and then at SEVEN, ted davin and cecil FINALLY show up..*cough*LATE*cough*..heeh j/k..

we had chips and dip first..YUMMY!!..who made the seven-layer dip?/..cuz it was ROCKIN awesome..

we finally started LOTR 1....pretty interesting, seeing how we had an endless amount of debates of who is better: legolas or aragorn....ARAGORN ALL THE WAY!!!...legolas is a pansy!!!..heehe j/k yall...but aragorn really is better..("he's a man's man!")..and then everytime an orc or somethign popped up on the screen, ivan woudl be like "look it's cecil!" (hehehe i'm j/k, we're just picking on ya cecil/^_^)..of course ivan says that he gets to be legolas cuz of his hair....no comment..haha...and then half the time ted and cecil were chunking pieces of candy at each other, which ended up hitting all of us...lol

took a break and decided to eat dinner..thanks claire for the lasagna!..it was yummy!!!...and the avocados were gooood too....i ended up getting butchered (again!).but it was all good in the end...i think i must have eaten like the most lasagna in the world, since i was trying to finish as much as possible since everyone else had stopped eating and i didn't want to waste any

back upstairs to watch movie...i got a good seat this time! (hehehhe..^_^)..more debates over the merits of legolas over the merits of aragorn..but then i had to leave at 11 so i didn't finish the rest of it...i didn't hear much about what happened between friday night and saturday morning, so yall will have to catch up on that reading someone else's blog..but apparently from what i hear, weikei was the first to fall asleep and talked in his sleep too, the girls went into another room while the guys stayed up yelling and playing gamecube thus causing the girls to call ivan's cell and yell at them for being so loud, and then cecil's friend called and woke them up at 9:30 am

saturday i get there around 12, thinking that everyone would still be asleep since they apparently went to bed around 5, but nope, all the guys had been up since 10 playing volleyball on gamecube again..haha...then they switched to smash brothers!..i love that game!..i discovered that after not playing that game for so many years, i really suck at it now!..lol...davin owned us all...then we had this whole interesting little episode where miink and ted managed to toss cecil's stuffed.umm..was it a giraffe.?? up above the stairs where she couldn't reach it..hehe!!!..they had to get it down in the end by throwing pillows at it...we ended up getting two more pillows stuck up there before we could get it down..ivan's pikachu pillow saved the day!!

went downstairs and ate lunch..mad props to claire again for the yummy hotdogs!...we tried to play taboo at the same time too..THAT was fun...girls vs. guys with claire switching between teams...claire is GOOD at taboo.."corned beef hash"??!!..hhaha mad props to ted too, for actually getting that one!!...lol....weikei wasn't at first, but he got the hang of it later, plus he had all the hard ones...i think the most interesting part was when ivan was trying to get the guys to guess "jazz"..so he goes, "name of the basketball team, the utah ____"....well, out of habit, i blurted out "jazz!"...while the rest of the guys were like "huh?"..haha well needless to say i gave them an extra point rite there...phoooey..hehe...hmmm and one other one, i think this one was janice's..?...she had "shaving cream", and the clue she gave was "what guys do in the morning" and half the people yell out "pee!!"..HAHAAH...umm..ok..lol

back upstairs to change while the guys messed around with their guitars....i freakin got interrogated while we were supposed to be "changing" ..haha bonding time...but it's all good now...no more butchering! yay!

out to play football...ted managed to stuff like 5 people in his truck..lol...and they repaid his generosity by writing stuff all over the back of his car window since it was kinda..dusty..!! *COUGH*..hehehe no j/k, it was funny...people were writing stuff like "wash me!" on his car..and..."other' stuff too..lol..

we started out football with ivan ted miink cecil claire on one team and janice me davin weikei grace on the other..i gotta admit, we had some good plays out there...seeing how this was my first time playign football i got a little confused but caught on in the end...but today everyone is sore from all the running around and tackling..hahah i'm mostly sore from when ted tackled weikei and i tried to save weikei by tackling ted but ended up taking all three of us down and weikei on top of all of us...lol...fun fun...cecil got hurt a little bit but it's all good now...and weikei did somethign funny to his hand and foot...i think he's alrite today tho

went back for secret santa...not much of an event for me since my secret santa didn't show up till later, and matt didn't even show up at all..haha...at least carol marie and albert were able to join us..but carol was grace's SS and ended up giving her the wrong gift or somethign that was interesting

head over to AMC for LOTR 3!!...great fun there!!..bought tickets and went to chick-fil-A to eat first...i managed to give ted accurate directions and we didn't get lost!!..wooho!!!..that's a first for me!!..lol...and then davin fired me as his butler..>_<..i didin't even get paid!..lol j/k..back to AMC (again we did NOT get lost!!..woohoo!!!)..sat in theater for a while wathcing previews and stuff...saw some austin people there (ryan and meg) ..they were in the row in front of us..and saw this other person wearing an austin jacket and ted starts yelling "hey austin person!"..hahah so funny..^_^...then i explained to janice cecil and ted about how austin's letter jacket is literally an exact representative of "the scarlet letter"..lol anyone else notice that?..then talked to janice for a while about the famous nathan liang..HAHAAH...all -state!!..so THAT's why u want to go to rice, hmm?.heheh jk!!!..LOTR 3 is a pretty good movie, altho it was kinda predictable and the ending kept going on and on and ON...the trolls and orcs were ugly, etc etc, aragorn was pimp, legolas was..uh..legolas..hhaa...ARAGORN IS STILL THE BEST!!!...(lol..really now..i must be the only chick in the world who is NOT in love with orlando bloom)..but it was great..^_^..lol yall know what i mean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

today ted led the choir and i played piano (except for one song and the service music)to give janice and ivan a break from having to do that every week.^_^..went pretty well!!..mad props to ted for getting ready in like 30 minutes!!...u rock man!!..and janice is playing "tzigane"!!..*gasp*..i lOVE that piece!!..u'll do great on it janice.=)

well alrrite then..there ends my wonderful weekeend..tomorrow is monday and that means driver's ed again...WEIKEI I OWNED UR XANGA!!..muahah!!..lol..

THANK GOODNESS THAT MY DREAMS NEVER EVER COME TRUE (i mean like dreams that you get when you're asleep, not dreams as in goals,etc..)

i had the worst dream of my life so far last night. i don't even know why i had this dream. because i never have depressing dreams. and i usually don't remember my dreams afterwards. so i don't even know why i'm blogging this. i'll prolly end up deleting it later.

i don't remember too much of it anymore, but i dreamed that one of my friends had died suddenly and unexpectedly and we were all at his funeral.

it was gray and it was raining outside. like they say in all the books, it looked like "the whole world was crying"

and everyone was crying. his parents, his sibling, his friends.

but for some reason i wasn't. i wanted to cry, i was really trying to cry but i couldn't. i remember that in the dream, all i could think of was "oh, i guess i can't give him his xmas present at school tomorrow."

it sucked. i felt terrible. and the dream just kept on going on.

and then i woke up, and i found that my face was covered in tears.

maldito sea....i pray that i never have such a dream again.....

what is the pleasantest manner of spending a chilly December day? lemme know!!!..i'll be updating responses in this post!! (NOTE: mad props to anyone who can tell me from which book this question is inspired from!..anyone know??)

i couldn't agree more. we ARE human after all aren't we? and if we were always perfect, we wouldn't be humans. we'd be like angels or something.

WHY and HOW did we get so competitive for those grades? it used to be just where you could take a class for the sake of LEARNING, not for knowing how to get that 89.5 that will bring you up to a 90. and not for playing the whole GPA game just so you can be number one. and not for bringing complaints against the school board against the person who is currently ranked #1, just so that they can be bumped down to #2, and that you can be #1 (btw...clements ppl...sorrie if this offends anyone, it isn't really meant to, but i think most of yall know EXACTLY who and what i am talking about)

i used to think (for those of you who know me through school) that i always had to be at the top. not perfect, quizás, but at least striving towards it. what a joke.

u know, i always hated that, although i always tried not to show it. i didn't want to be perfect...even now i can't understand why anyone would want to be perfect. why would you want to alienate yourself that way? ..or mebbe it's not a matter of alienation - i suppose it also depends on how you want OTHERS to perceive you. mebbe one type of person will WANT that type of social alienation, mebbe another type won't. but seriously..come on yall, i know yall are just teasing most of the time, but who likes it when someone comes up to them and says something like "ohh, you didn't get a 100???.maan, what HAPPENED?"..or something along those lines...i suppose that would offend some people..personally, i find it amusing...1)b/c i know they're not completely serious, and it's good comic relief and 2) b/c i like to entertain myself with the thought that if you really do think that someone can get perfect 100s on every test, grade, quiz, assignment, then you are living in your own little fantasyland. hurrah for you. (lol..j/k about #2, i don't know anyone like that, but the thought is just entertaining)

but then....maybe that striving for perfectionism is just a side effect of the impetus of learning...mebbbe it's not perfectionism of GRADES, but rather perfectionism of KNOWLEDGE....

you know, i was walking down through the main hallway before 1st period one morning, and i realized...i really hate high school. i really do. all the stereotypes, all the unacceptance, all the pointless work in some classes. i don't know what college will be like, mebbe there will be even MORE stereotypes et al., but whatever. at least college campuses are bigger. like christine said about UT, "it's so big that if you don't wanna see someone there, then you won't see them"

so in conclusion (not really..i just need to get back to studying), this year i've discovered that..wow, i really AM more happy this year..yes, my stress level has shot up about 200%, but overall, i'm waay happier. currently loving my life as hectic as it is!!!(i don't think i've ever said that before..............)

i was reading through my old emails, and i came across this one from johann about "how you know if you are a true mexican" (NOTE: this is NOT meant in a discriminatory way at all...i actually have another email forward titled "how to tell if you are asian"..o_O), and it lists all these methods of knowing whether or not ur a "true mexican"..this one really cracked me up:

oh! and before i forget....

in spanish today, a very confused apoorva today gave me a sheet that said that i was "in danger of being put on probation by NHS"...hahha....apoorva was all confused like "but that's gotta be wrong, i KNOW i've seen you at every morning meeting."

so since i never opened my backpack in spanish today, i ended up walking to government still holding the probation sheet, and i set it down on my desk and went and talked to heather instead

3 minutes later, there's this crowd of people around my desk looking at the probation sheet (since it's highlighted in bright neon yellow) , saying stuff like "steph, ur on probation? for what? oh for meetings? WOW U ROCK STEPH!! *high fives*"....HAHHAHAHA.......justin was like "YEA!!..ur my new hero now!!" (wait....justin's not even in NHS...)..and even troy was like "wow steph, that's just so awesome, i want to be on NHS probation too!"...



hahha...but what's funniest about it all, is that these people were all being dead serious...^_^

rather interesting day...

NHS morning meeting and MAO meeting...uneventful, except for the fact that we got assigned committees..very ironic that sid is my committee leader, esp. since that was like all he could talk about last nite...hehe

and i should NEVER have taken out my journal yesterday in government....now colin and sky won't leave me in peace till they find out wut's in it..and thanks to sky, colin now thinks that i'm writing about HIMself..hahah..greeat..they're like "we'll stop bugging you if you show us one page." so i turn to the page that i was writing the poem on (at chen's command..o_O) and show them that and as SOON as i turn my back for like a split second and turn back around, sky has already turned to another page..AAAH!!..hahaha.....same thing happened with colin. i had to almost literally pounce on them to get my journal back....lol i am SO getting a lock on that thing..^_^

walking to lunch was hilarious...bantered with colin over who's fault it would be if he jumped over me and hit the door frame and knocked himself out in the process of doing so...LOL....i say it would be his fault because HE's the one who gets to actually MAKE the decision whether to WAIT, or to JUMP over...he says it's my fault because i was in the way and that gave him no other choice but to jump over me - and then he plans on suing me (hahhaha good luck with tHAT !).......and then IRONICALLY , after lunch, the gov lecture we had was over courts and sueings!!!...so here's the proposed outline for the compromise that i got worked out during the lecture:

1) colin jumps and knocks himself out on the door frame
2) gets mad and sues me
3) takes ruling to the district court
4) loses district court ruling
5)thinks to himself "this is stupid, i'm gonna take it to the circuit court"
6)circuit court takes too long to make decision
7)colin learns mandarin in the meantime and goes and moves to cuba (haha...yall would have to be our 5th period gov class in order to understand how the "cuba" thing fits into the lecture)
8) see colin happy with his cuban tequila.

and that's what i learned in government class today..;P
